Temporary Traffic Management Training (TTM) at AES
As part of the project to harmonise temporary traffic management practice in Australia, Austroads has developed training courses for new skill sets for traffic workers.
AES is offering training for the new skill sets for traffic controllers (TC) , traffic management implementers (TMI) and traffic management designers (TMD).
The courses for category 1 roads, which are most of the roads in Tasmania:

TC1 Course – 2 days face to face training with a required work placement of 20 hours practical directing traffic in a TTM workplace within 6 months of the course completion date.

TMI1 Course – 2 days face to face training with a required work placement to complete 3 different set ups on category 1 roads within 6 months of the course completion date.

TC1 and TMI1 Combo Course – 3 days face to face training with a required work placement of 20 hours practical directing traffic in a TTM workplace and to complete 3 different set ups on category 1 roads within 6 months of the course completion date.

TMD1 Course – 3 days face to face training with a requirement to complete 2 different Traffic Management Plans (TMP) within 6 months of the course completion date. This course has an entry requirement – please refer to the course outline.

TC2 Course – 5 hours face to face training with a required work placement of 20 hours practical directing traffic in a TTM workplace on Category 2 roads within 6 months of the course completion date

TMI2 Course – 1 day face to face training with a required work placement to complete 3 different set ups on category 2 roads within 6 months of the course completion date.

TC2 and TMI2 Combo Course – 2 days face to face training with a required work placement of 20 hours practical directing traffic in a TTM workplace on category 2 roads and to complete 3 different set ups on category 2 roads within 6 months of the course completion date.
All above courses have a prerequisite requirement that participants have successfully completed training for CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry.
